Log Files
As with most other websites, we collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit our site, the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout our site.
Number-page visit statistics
We compile estimated visits to number pages to show broad visitor activity and approximate UK regions. Our server uses the request's IP address for a local GeoLite2 region lookup and request information to filter obvious automated traffic and group visit sources. This feature stores only the number-page identifier, UTC date, broad source category, coarse region or unknown/overseas category, and aggregate count—not IP addresses, individual browsing histories, browser identifiers or full referring URLs. It adds no analytics cookie or browser tracking request and does not send visitor IP addresses to MaxMind for lookup.
Refreshes and repeat visits may count again. Published figures are rounded. The regional graph appears after at least 10 recorded visits with a recognised UK region, with no minimum per individual region. The figures describe visitors checking a number, not the caller's location. The graph covers 30 UTC calendar days including today. Aggregate rows older than 40 days are regularly removed by scheduled cleanup. This feature does not change the separate logging and advertising practices described elsewhere on this page.
This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind.
Recorded visits are not a count of unique people or calls received. IP-based regions are approximate and can be affected by mobile networks, VPNs or proxies.
Cookies and Web Beacons
We do use cookies to store information, such as your personal preferences when you visit our site. This could include only showing you a popup once in your visit, or the ability to login to some of our features.
We also use third party advertisements on whoscalled.co.uk to support our site. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed.
