calling over 20 times our business and wasting time for several moths - scammer
SCAM CALL DO NOT GIVE INFORMATION
Had these call repeatedly even though I’ve said I will not give them details…
We have had numerous calls supposedly from our supplier stating that they have the wrong ID number and wanting us to give them details. It is definitely scammers, did not give them any information and told them why and put the phone down. They phoned back 5 times . Blocked the number. Received another call today, and just put the phone down. They phoned back a further three times, so have blocked that number also. They get very aggressive when you challenge them.
Caller claimed to be from Smart Energy, phishing for additional information, could not provide contact details and got very shirty when challenged about reasons for call. Be careful! No Doubt this was a scam.
Called saying that they were from British Gas and they had the wrong supply ID on the bill. They haven't had the wrong one for the last umpteen years so This is clearly a scammer trying to sign the busin ess up to a different supplier without consent.
Called claiming from EDF and wanting details. I told them to send the queries in the usual manner and I would act on those, said I was ending the call, hung up and he rang back.
Said he was calling from Scottish Power this time, some garble about our meter number being mixed up with another account (since this morning!) and needed me to verify our details to avoid being overcharged. Lol. I sent him away with a flea in his ear. I have it on good authority that Scottish Power NEVER call on spec. They will only ever call if it's been pre-arranged. I believe this is true of most if not all utility companies.
