Had 4 calls from this number over a period of 2 weeks, did not answer the first 3 and answered on the fourth, a woman claimed to be from British Gas and tried to persuade me to agree a new deal, I ended the call after informing her I do not do deals on the phone.

Almost certainly scammers claiming to be Wescot. They are very persistent in calling me every day twice a day and leaving voicemails and it is causing significant anxiety, even though I'm pretty sure they're scammers. I blocked the number, but they've continued to leave me automated voicemails claiming to be Wescot, a debt-collecting service, and telling me to call back a number that they give (01482484661) and quote a reference number. I do not have any debts. I emailed the actual Wescot to ask about this number, and they said they don't recognise it. The Wescot website says they will always send a letter before calling, and I have not received any such letter. They have also attempted to text me telling me they've sent me a letter, but that I should use the link to view it (after spending a week calling me!) which is just so blatantly scammy I immediately reported it. I'm paranoid enough, but this could be very dangerous for individuals more vulnerable than me.
