Scam caller, do not answer

The called me purporting to be from EE (they can tell which network you are on by the phone number) telling me that my SIM card will no longer be supported and that I need a new one. They said they would deliver it to me tomorrow and wanted to send me a code on my phone to verify that the phone number is associated to me. I put the phone down immediately. Clearly a scam to take over my phone.
